On December 8th of 2000 I was diagnosed with cancer.  My battle with this disease has been harsh and debilitating.  Towards the end of October 2005, with my cancer in remission, I decided to try exercising to improve my quality of life.  I joined a local fitness center and enlisted David, who had been recommended by a friend, to be my trainer.  My first session was needless to say frustrating.  My body had been tremendously weekend by my struggle with cancer and chemotherapy treatments.  David motivated me to continue and fight through the frustration I was experiencing.  David understood what I was going through and made me as comfortable as possible.  After just two weeks of training with David I felt invigorated.  I went from feeling week and feeble to strong and vibrant.  I presently no longer worry about how far I have to walk to get somewhere or dread climbing up stairs for fear of loosing my breath.  I feel more alive than I have in quite some time.  I am thankful to have had David be my guide to a better life.

Before Hurricane Katrina I had the opportunity to have David as my trainer for a year.  Now, I am a person who does not like to exercise, however, with his personality and knowledge David was able to make these workouts both beneficial and enjoyable for me (except stair climbing).  He seemed to be able to know where I was physically and just how far to push me in order to help me achieve my goals.  While working with David I was amazed at what I was really physically capable of.  I never would have pushed myself on my own.  If Katrina had not devastated New Orleans and sent many of us to different parts of the country I would still be a client of David's.  David was my trainer and my friend and I miss him and my workouts; however, I don't miss the stairs.

I never thought working out could be so much fun!  David makes it entertaining.  For someone who thought it was against her religion to exercise, I have so enjoyed my workouts and look forward to them everyday.  Thank you David for making me look and feel better about myself!

As a client of Marethouse Fitness for almost eight months now, I have seen significant changes in myself thanks to the help of my personal trainer, Bear Moore.  Bear has done a fabulous job keeping my workouts diverse, challenging, and fun.  As a result, I have had the privilege of seeing distinct increases in muscle tone, strength and best of all, a rejuvenated desire to workout.  Thanks to Bear and the staff at Marethouse, I now look forward to going to the gym and staying fit.

After having my second child, I had a very difficult time losing the weight.  I was eating right.  I was exercising.  I even had a trainer.  Still, I did not see the results that I had hoped for.  Then, I made a change – I started working out with Tamera.  What I have learned is that having the right trainer – one who understands your goals and how to work with a woman’s body – is crucial to seeing results.  I have lost inches, pounds, and decreased my body fat.  I have definition in muscles that I didn’t even know existed!!  Tamera makes my workouts fun and varied, keeps challenging me, and encourages me (or pushes me when I need it) to do my best.  I am 35 years old, and I am in the best physical shape of my adult life.  I am also setting an example for my girls of how to live a happy and healthy life by including fitness in our daily activities.

I don't think I would ever be able to believe in myself the way I do today without this experience.  Working with these amazing, supportive and inspiring personal trainers has helped me achieve some of the fitness goals that I have never been able to reach.  After my first training session with Wade Berger, I knew it was going to be a long road but he gave me the inspiration to keep on pushing.  I would recommend MaretHouse Fitness to anyone who is looking for some change in their life.  I KNOW that this experience has helped me change mine.
